“Carolyn is a Five Star therapist. She checks in, listens, then supports with a caring, therapeutic massage that eases my pain and discomfort and nourishes my soul. Massage with Carolyn is an integral part of my overall health regime and essential to my inner peace.”
I was visiting and most places were booked last minute. I was referred to Synapse by a massage therapist who was booked and what a pleasant surprise. We had wonderful massages – mix of deep tissue and Swedish. I will be back!
Going to Synapse is a treat!! Stan is the primary massage therapist that I see. He offers just the right amount of pressure for me and subtly releases my knots. I always feel relaxed and renewed after I leave.
I love getting monthly massages from Stan. He’s professional, super skilled, gentle when needed and an all around great guy. The warm towels are awesome! I feel so relaxed and rejuvenated at the end. He’s the best in the bay. Treat yourself and you won’t be disappointed. In fact, you’ll be hooked like me.
Massage is my #1 indulgence in life and my search for the perfect massage ended when I met Stan – simply the best!
Synapse Bodywork is where I go for my regular tuneups. As a bodyworker myself, I’m extremely particular and have bounced all around Oakland in search for great massage therapy. I always come back to Synapse. Stan uses a quicker pace, while Carolyn is a bit slower. Both therapists are super thorough, professional and provide a great session.
I had a combo massage and physical therapy session with Liz. First she did some assessments to help me understand where my chronic pain a headaches had been coming from (bad posture, weak muscles) and she suggested simple stretches and exercises for me to do at home. Then I got to receive a deep, relaxing massage targeting my areas of complaint. The perfect combo! It’s unique to find a CMT that is dually licensed as a PT, and Liz is a gem in this respect. She has years of experience working with people to help them heal from injuries and correct postural imbalances, and has all sorts of practical tips for applying her suggestions. She is very warm and down to earth as well.
“I first heard about Stan from a friend of mine after we completed a training to prep for a triathlon. We were all wrecked. She mentioned she was going to get a massage, and the way she said it was very odd. Sure, all massages feel good. But she made it sound like a religious experience. She said “I don’t know what covers his hands, but it’s not skin, it feels like butter. Magic butter.” Sounds pretty crazy, right? I made an appointment and my world changed. I’ve had three knee surgeries that let to hip injuries that let to shoulder injuries. My body is jacked. After an hour an half with Stan my body was pain free. I felt like I’d just left the planet and had the greatest vacation of my life. Aside from the obviously pleasant and transcendent experience, Stan listens to your body, focuses on problem areas and releases a lot of stress and pain. I cannot say enough positive things about Stan, he is a treasure.”
I have been receiving massages for over 30 years, and tried out a number of therapists. I am really happy I found Stan. He works on my problem areas, leaves me feeling refreshed and reinvigorated. The setting is comfortable and serene, and the music is relaxing and unobtrusive. What more could I ask for?
This place was recommended to me by my pilates teacher, who said that a client of hers called it the best massage she’d ever had. She was right.I’ve seen two different massage therapists at Synapse. The person I see regularly is Liz. She’s a massage therapist and a physical therapist, which is an amazing combination. She knows her anatomy and physiology and does a great job on all kinds of aches and pains. She also does a great job when I don’t have any particular aches and pains!Stan is great for those who like a really strong massage. He’s clearly a very skilled and experienced body worker and really gets into the muscles and works on them. He does a lot of work with bicycle racers and other athletes. They’re both wonderfully nice people, happy to talk, or not talk, depending on your preference or mood. The facility is bright, clean, modern, professional, and tastefully upscale. You can book on line, or in person. There’s a parking lot in back. But the qualit…
