I’ve been meaning to check out Synapse for ages. As a bodyworker, I always like to know who’s doing good work in my neighborhood. I’ve seen Liz outside of that practice and her work is excellent, so I wanted to know some of the other therapists.I had a session with Jamie a few weeks ago and it was really excellent. She was professional, attentive, kind, and very skilled. She listened to my litany of aches and pains and paid specific and relevant attention to each area. Her pressure was strong, steady, and consistent. Her pacing was slow and smooth and I felt both deeply relaxed and very safe. I left feeling better than I had in a while.
I have been going to Stan for massage for years and he is absolutely the best! Whether I’m dealing with an injury or just need to get a way for a relaxing massage, Synapse is the place to go! Aside from being an exceptionally knowledgeable and talented massage therapist, Stan has a wonderful way of being and is really just a great person. I’m excited that Stan is growing Synapse and I’m certain that any massage therapist that he adds to the business is quality.
Julia just gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever had. She is so intuitive and her method is different than anything I’ve experienced. I was in a trance for most of it. She used a lot of pressure but it never hurt. My body never reacted in fear. She is really professional and attentive to exactly what I need even though I only gave minimal directions before the massage. My body feels amazing and I’m perfectly relaxed. It was worth every penny. REVIEW UPDATE- I had a massage from Carolyn and it was equally amazing. I am blown away by how good this place is. I am completely relaxed and it was literally a perfect massage.
I love getting monthly massages from Stan. He’s professional, super skilled, gentle when needed and an all around great guy. The warm towels are awesome! I feel so relaxed and rejuvenated at the end. He’s the best in the bay. Treat yourself and you won’t be disappointed. In fact, you’ll be hooked like me.
Had an amazing deep tissue massage given by Stan. Excellent pressure and effective techniques to get at the shoulder and neck tightness. He was also very gracious in changing my time as my car had been broken into and items stolen. Was great to walk into their space and feel the quiet and calm. Will definitely be back.
After a very rough year, endless health issues, and continually escalating stress levels, I came to Carolyn for some relaxation. It doesn’t come naturally to me, but has been increasingly important. Carolyn acknowledges, respects, and devotes herself to that importance. Every session starts with the question, “what do you need today?” She then caters each massage to my particular stresses and desires. She has an amazing energy. It’s relaxing, compassionate, down-to-earth. I never feel she’s forcing her kindness. It’s clear she cares about her job. She’s never fake. I enjoy our conversations at the end of the sessions. As a masseuse, she’s incredible. She knows how to work out every tension I might have, and she knows how to provide a serene experience. She even finds a perfect balance of the both. She has a particularly amazing technique with the hands, where she stretches your fingers back, while rubbing all the pressure points. It may be such a simple technique, but those two minutes…
I have a high pressure job. As part of my self care, I was searching for a massage therapist who I could see on a regular basis. I was mentioning about my search to a work colleague and she told me that she saw Stan. She raved about his massage skills, and said he was a really centered person and a sweet guy. I made an appointment and was so impressed that 3.5 years later I am fortunate enough to continue to see him weekly. Work is still busy but not nearly as stressful! My colleague was right on all counts. Thanks so much Stan!
I was in an accident recently and I’m now dealing with whiplash. I was told by my physician that if I didn’t have the right massage therapist it could end up doing more harm than good. I called Synapse and was told that Jamie Flanigan was very experienced and has dealt with whiplash patients before. Jamie was fantastic. She listened to what I told her, worked slowly and continually checked in with me to make sure I wasn’t in pain. She immediately located the areas that were hurting the most and gently worked to release the tightness. She has a calm, sweet demeanor and really put me at ease. I was nervous going in because I was worried I would come out hurting more but after only a few minutes with Jamie I knew I was in good hands. Although my pain is still very much present I know that with continued visits to her I will heal from this injury. Thanks so much Jamie for being present and patient with me! I’ll be back soon!
“Jamie is an extremely talented massage therapist. She can target specific muscles to improve mobility and function while also providing a holistic approach to health and well-being. Her knowledge, professionalism, skills and warmth are true gifts to all her clients. I’d definitely recommend Jamie to anyone seeking sports-specific or general massage support.“
I highly recommend Stan. I had my doubts about a 90 minute massage– that it would be too long. I was wrong. It’s perfect. Now, I don’t think I can ever do anything but a 90 minute massage. I went to Stan to reduce stress, and it worked! I felt totally recharged and relaxed afterwards. I am definitely going to be a regular.
